Pediatric Primary Care Symposium

This program will provide practical information and updates on evaluation and management
of commonly encountered pediatric conditions. The interprofessional education program
is designed for the pediatric healthcare community of South Jersey, which includes
pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists and emergency medicine physicians, family medicine
physicians, advanced practice providers, pediatric trainees and pediatric nurses.

1. Demonstrate the orthopedic examination and assessment of the student athlete
2. Describe the approach to addiction (marijuana and tobacco) and lessons learned from control efforts focused on parents and adolescents
3. Describe the approach to common infectious diseases and emerging outbreaks
4. Describe the management of anger and aggressive behavior
5. Discuss obesity and weight management options
6. Improve knowledge of evidence-based screening and management of mental and behavioral health conditions in primary care
7. Improve the knowledge of current evidence and gain hand on practical tips in examination, diagnosis and management of frequently seen orthopedic conditions
8. Review advances in the management of food allergies
9. Review the approach to common skin conditions
10. Review the evaluation and approach to penicillin allergy
11. Understand the implications and pitfalls of AI use in healthcare and its application in practice to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes
12. Utilizing of AI applications in practice to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes

The conference will be held at Virtua Voorhees. The registration fee is $75 and includes continental breakfast, breaks, parking and syllabus material.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
