Overview
This 2-day symposium will provide comprehensive education on the diagnosis and management of children with hyperinsulinism as well as review exciting advances in the field. The first day will feature lectures on all aspects of hyperinsulinism care and interactive sessions with world-renowned hyperinsulinism experts. The second day offers two tracks: 1) clinically focused activities with simulations, cases, and additional lectures on hyperinsulinism management or 2) research-focused activities with presentations on the latest scientific advances in beta cell biology, genetics, and drug development. The symposium is intended for endocrinologists, neonatologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and nurses, as well as other providers caring for these complex patients.

Objectives
  1. Discuss the known genetic etiologies of hyperinsulinism and their implications for clinical care and response to therapy.
  2. Employ effective strategies to rapidly diagnose hyperinsulinism and initiate treatment.
  3. Understand the optimal immediate and long-term management of children with hyperinsulinism to ensure the best outcomes.
  4. Review recent research advances in beta cell biology, genetics, and drug development for hyperinsulinism.
