Overview

This live course was organized by the CHOP Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) via a hybrid model of in person and virtual platform designed for clinicians, researchers, and health care professionals who care for children and young adults with IBD with topics to include the latest developments and advancements in genetic testing and discoveries in very early-onset (VEO) IBD and pediatric IBD, an overview of the multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation of VEO-IBD and pediatric IBD, innovations in translational science, as well as case discussions with experts in IBD and VEO-IBD.


Objectives
  1. Understand the indication for immunologic and genetic testing in patients with very early onset inflammatory bowel disease based on patient history, clinical, endoscopic, histologic, and biomarker criteria
  2. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans incorporating the latest pharmacologic and nutritional therapies for pediatric IBD
  3. Evaluate recent advances in pediatric IBD research, including microbiome studies, precision medicine, and novel therapeutic targets and apply to their clinical care

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
