Overview

We would like to welcome you to the 3rd Annual World Congress of the Hypospadias International Society (HIS). The HIS was founded in 2017 to create a forum that promotes the exchange of scientific information, technological advancements and research support specifically within the field of hypospadias.  Building upon the success of the initial meeting in Moscow in 2016, last year’s meeting in Frankfurt was highly successful with over 200 international attendees from across the world.  We expect that this meeting in Philadelphia will be met with even more enthusiasm due to a widespread interest in the field of hypospadiology.

The Congress will include a number of international experts designed to foster collaboration and advancement of various aspects of hypospadias care delivery.  We hope to merge the leaders of basic science research with physicians delivering clinical care. Honest discussion of surgical outcomes will lead to dissemination of approached towards improving our efforts.  Discussion of surgical videos will allow attendees to further refine techniques.

There will be 2 prizes for abstract presentations based on scientific merit: the 5000€ Hadidi basic science and the 1000€ Hanna clinical prizes.

Philadelphia has a long and storied history within the United States, the foundation of which starts with the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.  It is the 6th most populous city within the US and its large number of universities foster an environment as an educational destination.  With an eclectic food scene, countless museums and art galleries, there is no shortage of activities to keep attendees busy outside of the meeting.  If interested, Philadelphia is also a travel hub and a short trip from New York City, Washington D.C and other large cities within the northeastern US.

This meeting is unique in its focus on the field of hypospadias yet broad inclusion of many topics that will be vital toward advancing our efforts toward improving patient outcomes.  We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia!
