Overview

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the John M. Templeton Jr. Pediatric Trauma Symposium. The course is a nationally recognized resource for innovative as well as basic multidisciplinary pediatric trauma education — a one-of-a-kind conference! The two-day course allows you the opportunity to be present among the physician and nursing leaders in pediatric trauma as well as other health team members who are passionate about trauma. The multidisciplinary audience includes pediatric and adult trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, trauma medical directors, trauma program managers, registered nurses, advanced practitioners from emergency departments, intensive care units, peri-operative departments, medical-surgical units, and rehabilitation centers, pre-hospital providers and social workers. The content is geared to healthcare professionals caring for traumatically injured children.


Objectives
  1. 90% of learners will self-report having the knowledge to describe current treatment and technological advances that decrease pediatric trauma and disability
  2. 90% of learners will self-report having the knowledge to discuss how trauma affects the physical and emotional development of the pediatric patient.
  3. 90% of learners will self-report having the knowledge to identify strategic measures to reduce the incidence of pediatric traumatic injuries.
  4. 90% of learners will self-report having the knowledge to discuss the values that support effective multidisciplinary teams in pediatric trauma care
