Pediatric Difficult Airway Course

Participants will have exposure to a collection of experts from anesthesiology, critical care medicine and otolaryngology, covering topics integral to successful pediatric difficult airway practice. The unparalleled strength of this course is the simulation exposure in a small-group setting with an average ratio of 1 to 3. Learners will have exposure to live animal models and manikins to cover a host of challenging difficult airway scenarios. This course is designated for anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), anesthesiology fellows and anesthesiology residents seeking intensive training and realistic hands-on experience with difficult pediatric airway management.

1. Perform pediatric difficult airway techniques including fiberoptic intubation and
2. Describe indications for and perform emergency front-of-neck access
3. Describe cognitive biases that commonly impact airway management

The conference will be held in the Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Pediatric Research Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The registration fee is $1,000 and includes continental breakfast, breaks, lunch, parking and syllabus material.

A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced rates at The Sheraton University City, located just a few blocks from Children’s Hospital. The group overnight rate is $209 single and double occupancy plus a 16.37 percent room tax. The special room rate will be available until Friday, March 15. After that date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.
