Practical Approaches to Pediatric Dermatology in Primary Care

The Section of Pediatric Dermatology of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia announces a course on pediatric skin disorders oriented toward primary care clinicians. This will be the sixth biannual conference. The 2017 course will be held at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the Stokes Auditorium and area conference rooms on Friday, April 21, 2017. The registration fee includes registration materials, continental breakfast, lunch, breaks and parking.

The course is intended for practicing clinicians who care for children including, but not limited to, pediatricians, dermatologists, family practitioners, general practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians-in-training and other allied healthcare professionals. Other specialists are welcome to attend. Participants will receive current information on dermatologic disorders in neonates, children and adolescents.

Highlights of the Course Include:

- Updated information on pediatric skin diseases

- Case-based panel discussions regarding treatment strategies for common skin-related disorders

- Patient examinations with volunteer patients and their families

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to any unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia will refund any registration fees, less a service charge, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses to participants, including cancellation charges assessed by airlines/travel agencies. In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellations must be received in writing by Monday, April 10, 2017. No refunds will be issued thereafter. Refunds will be issued for the amount of registration minus a $40 service charge

1. Identify and manage common newborn skin conditions
2. Diagnose and manage common pediatric skin disorders, such as atopic dermatitis, hemangiomas, overgrowth syndromes, nevi and drug reactions
3. Review recent developments in optimizing sun protection and sunscreen use and contact dermatitis
