Overview
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 6 children in the United States has a developmental disability or developmental delay and 1 in 36 has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). As the American Academy of Pediatrics highlights, there is a shortage of developmental and behavioral specialists, limiting access to specialty care for many children with developmental or behavioral health conditions. This conference will address some of the leading developmental and behavioral health concerns that pediatricians and primary care providers deal with on a daily basis: co-occurring medical and behavioral conditions such as sleep, feeding, and ADHD, therapeutic interventions (cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy) for anxiety, understanding education and insurance rights and benefits, understanding autism in females, and understanding speech disorders and augmentative communication strategies. Each lecture will include evidence-based treatments, support management, and resource suggestions.

Objectives
  1. Participants will identify common developmental and behavioral health symptoms that can present in pediatric patients.
  2. Participants will identify common medical and mental health conditions that can occur with developmental or behavioral disorders and understand how they may impact the child’s function.
  3. Participants will identify resources that can be utilized in the office or shared with families to address developmental, behavioral or mental health concerns in children.

Registration
The registration fee includes access to the conference live stream, online presentations, and CME credits.
Physicians - $125
Other Healthcare Professionals - $75
