Overview
Since its inception in 2001, the John M. Templeton Jr. Pediatric Trauma Symposium has grown to be a nationally recognized resource for cutting-edge as well as basic multidisciplinary pediatric trauma education — a one-of-a-kind conference! The two-day course allows you the opportunity to be present among the physician and nursing leaders in pediatric trauma as well as other health team members who are passionate about trauma. The multidisciplinary audience includes pediatric and adult trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, trauma medical directors, trauma program managers, registered nurses and advanced practitioners from emergency departments, intensive care units, peri-operative departments, medical-surgical units, and rehabilitation centers.

Objectives
  1. Describe current treatment and technological advances that decrease pediatric death and disability.
  2. Discuss how trauma affects the physical and emotional development of the pediatric patient.
  3. Identify strategic measures to reduce the incidence of pediatric traumatic injuries
  4. Identify strategic measures to reduce the incidence of pediatric traumatic injuries.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team

DESIGNATION OF CREDIT
Physicians: Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Nurses: This program provides 11.75 NCPD hours.

Joint Accreditation:

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 11.75 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.

EMS Accreditation
Application for Continuing Education credits has been submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Health Bureau of EMS through UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Your CEUs will be applied to your Status Report within two weeks of the conclusion of the symposium. Providers from other states will be provided with a certificate of attendance.

Social Work Accreditation
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for Pennsylvania Licensed Social
Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Participants licensed in Pennsylvania who attend the full
workshop and complete the required evaluation are eligible for a total of 6.5 CEUs for day 1, 5.5 CEUs for day 2 and 12.0 CEUs for the
full conference. Participants licensed in other states should check with local licensing boards to determine continuing education approval.
