15th Annual CHOP Pediatric Global Health Conference: Shaping the Future of Global Child Health – Nothing About Us Without Us

The 15th Annual CHOP Pediatric Global Health Conference brings together colleagues from around the world to Shape the Future of Global Child Health using an equity, bottom-up and community-informed strategy that is captured in the phrase Nothing About Us Without Us. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global health community has been grappling with the realities of global disparities that led to the prioritization of the needs of communities in high-income countries (HIC) over those in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). There have been increasing calls to decolonize global health and promote global health equity. Therefore, this conference will enable participants to critically reflect on ways to bridge the gap to create and sustain mutually beneficial and equitable partnerships that leverage the knowledge and expertise of stakeholders in both LMIC and HIC to advance global child health.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Physicians, advanced practice nurses, nurses, social workers, allied health professionals, mental health professionals, public health professionals, researchers, human rights activists, educators, policy makers, trainees, students and anyone working or interested in the fields of global health or public health.

1. Formulate resources to address children's developmental and behavioral needs in resource-limited settings.
2. Discuss how nurses play a critical role in improving child health worldwide.
3. Identify the characteristics of effective global health partnerships.
4. Describe at least three strategies for mitigating the impact of disasters, violence, and conflict on children's health and well-being.
5. Devise tools for developing equitable global medical education programs.
