Overview
This program will provide neonatologists and neonatal healthcare providers with the most up-to-date information on a variety of complex physiologic issues in neonatology. Research and technology are constantly expanding. This program will review some of the latest therapies used in treating the sick neonate.

Objectives
  1. Identify differences in management strategies when caring for infants born at 22-23 weeks gestation.
  2. Explain the importance of NICU discharge preparation and transition planning.
  3. Discuss how the disrupted circadian rhythm clock can affect human adaptation during illness.
  4. Identify congenital anomalies benefiting from fetal interventions.
  5. Define human factors and describe the application to neonatal resuscitation and tracheal intubation.
  6. Describe safety and efficacy data from randomized trials evaluating corticosteroids for BPD prevention
  7. Discuss the key elements to consider when creating a NICU quality improvement program.
