Overview

Bold steps are needed to impact the frontiers of global child health. In 2020, more than 5 million children under age 5 and 2.2 million between 5 and 24 years old died primarily due to preventable conditions. Globally, at least 50 countries are falling behind in achieving 2030 targets for under-five mortality. Without decisive action, 48 million children under five will die from preventable causes by 2030. Multidisciplinary collaboration is needed to effectively achieve health equity for children worldwide. This includes collaboration between experts in child health, policymakers, environmental scientists, behavioral scientists, economists, and engineers.

The 2022 14th Annual CHOP Pediatric Global Health Conference, 'Frontiers in Global Child Health,' will bring together global child health advocates and other experts seeking bold, innovative, and strategic approaches to improve child health by tackling current and emerging challenges. Attendees will broaden their perspectives and discover 'out of the box' interventions and approaches to advance child health through stimulating keynote addresses, breakout sessions, discussions, and poster presentations.

Target Audience
Physicians, advanced practice nurses, nurses, social workers, allied health professionals, mental health professionals, public health professionals, researchers, environmental scientists, educators, policy makers, trainees, students and anyone working or interested in the fields of global health or public health.

Objectives
  1. List at least three future child health priorities
  2. Describe at least two interventions to address adolscent mental health in low - and middle - income settings
