12th Biennial International 22q11.2 Conference-- Family Meeting

After two long years without in-person meetings, the 2022 Biennial International 22q11.2 Family Conference, to be held in beautiful Split Croatia from Sunday, June 26th through Tuesday, June 28th, will precede the 12th Biennial International 22q11.2 Scientific Meeting, which has occurred every two years since the inaugural meeting in Strasbourg, France in 1998, with the exception of 2020.

Traditionally a retreat meeting, having moved routinely between Europe and North America (Strasbourg ‘98, Philadelphia ‘00, Rome ‘02, Atlanta ‘04, Marseilles ‘06, Utrecht ‘08, Coventry ‘10, Orlando ‘12, Mallorca ‘14, Sirmione ‘16, Whistler ‘18), the scientific conference has always included family representatives but over time a dedicated back-to-back meeting designed specifically for families, and capitalizing on world experts in clinical care and scientific research being onsite for the scientific conference, has blossomed into an exceptional stand-alone conference. Invited speakers, including family voices, are particularly excited to share their respective expertise while learning from one another.

For the first time, the family meeting, intended for individuals aged 16 years or older interested in/affected by chromosome 22q11.2 deletion or duplication differences will include three full days of information sharing and friend raising with an intentional emphasis on Integrative Health and Wellness. The latter will feature hands on demonstrations including yoga, aromatherapy, meditation, anti-inflammatory diet, and practical workshops such as Mindfulness, photography, and writing for relaxation, while traditional lectures will focus on associated medical conditions, school challenges, behavioral differences, social considerations, genetic counseling, and advances in cutting-edge basic science including efforts towards developing novel treatments. Breakout sessions will also focus on concerns by age such as infancy and early childhood, school aged and adolescence, and transition to adulthood.

Families and presenters will be traveling from around the globe, representing numerous countries across four continents. A fantastic social program, inclusive of a conference dinner on June 27th, is certain to provide plenty of 1:1 time with invited speakers, while offering tremendous opportunity for creating lasting memories and lifelong friendships. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
A block of rooms at reduced rates have been reserved at the Le Méridien Lav Resort, Split.  All group room rates are subject to applicable taxes and fees.

Room rates are 200 Euro for Single room accommodation, 220 Euro for Double room accommodation based on Run of House (ROH) room allocation.  Upgrade to sea view room subject to availability for a surcharge of 15 Euro per room per night.  Room Rate includes breakfast.  Basic Internet is complimentary in each guest room.  All room reservations must be guaranteed with credit card. 

Participants must indicate their group affiliation (12th Biennial International 22q11.2 Family Conference) when making reservations or the group rate will not be extended. 

CUT OFF DATE for reservations May 1, 2022.  After this date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis.

Please note that the reservation may be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival. In the event of a cancellation within 14 days or a no-show, the hotel reserves the right to charge the full confirmed rate for the entire stay.
