Overview

This one-day conference for hearing healthcare professionals will explore complex listening and auditory concerns through a neuroaudiologic lens. Presenters will share research and best practice guidelines on auditory processing disorders, the clinical application of cortical potential testing, and auditory symptoms associated with concussion and functional neurologic disorders. The course will emphasize practical assessment strategies, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered care for children with challenging auditory presentations.


Objectives
  1. Describe auditory processing disorders in children and identify appropriate assessment and management considerations.
  2. Explain the clinical role of cortical potential testing.
  3. Recognize potential auditory, listening, and communication effects associated with pediatric concussion.
  4. Identify key features of functional neurologic disorders that may affect hearing and listening, and apply patient-centered, interdisciplinary care strategies.

Attendees have the option of attending the hybrid conference at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia or virtually.
