Overview

This virtual conference will be held over two half days and is intended for the multidisciplinary team: physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech pathologists, social workers and dietitians who provide care for patients with CLD/BPD.

This year’s conference was made possible in part by the generous philanthropic support of James and Ivana D’Agostino.


Objectives
  1. Define similarities and differences in the care of infants with BPD/CLD in the US and internationally
  2. Discuss the long-term respiratory and neurodevelopmental consequences of BPD/CLD
  3. Discuss multidisciplinary modalities available to optimize treatment of infants with BPD/CLD
  4. Debate the risk and benefits of tracheostomy in infants BPD/CLD
  5. Discuss emerging methods for individualizing pharmacological interventions in infants with BPD/CLD
  6. Recognize the challenges parents face as they transition to home with a medically complex child
  7. Understand the role of long-term care facilities in the care of infants with BPD/CLD

CLINICAL NUTRITION CPEU STATEMENT

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered Dietitians (RDs) and Dietetic Technicians (DTRs), will receive 8.5 continuing education credits (CPEUs) pending approval, upon completion of this course.

PHYSICAL THERAPY CEU STATEMENT

Application has been made to the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

SOCIAL WORK ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for Pennsylvania Licensed Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Participants licensed in Pennsylvania who attend the full workshop and complete the required evaluation are eligible for 9.5 continuing education credits. Participants licensed in other states should check with local licensing boards to determine continuing education approval.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

    Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is an approved provider of continuing education by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. 8.5 contact hours or .85 AOTA CEUs will be awarded to participants at the completion of the program.
