Overview

The Social Work Dept. Annual Poster Day will feature oral delivery and public display of poster presentations showcasing the research and quality improvement work of social workers within CHOP. This is an opportunity to learn the social work impact peers have made through this medium. The posters must show a level of professionalism that is worthy of representing our division and reflect one or more of the following recommended themes:

  • Social Work Best Practice: demonstrates the fundamentals of the ethics, values, and standards of our profession, service delivery at a level of excellence, promotes inter-professionalism, and shows the impact our profession can have on care delivery.

  • Family Center Care: demonstrates how your work supports, models and advocates for family centered care and delivers it in a way that is new or illustrates a unique process.

  • Cultural Competence: demonstrates how your work improved cultural awareness and inclusion, or making a positive impact on social determinants of health and equity in care delivery.

  • Patient & Family Impact: demonstrates how your direct practice, administrative work or research resulted in a change in practice, policy or procedure that removed barriers, improved process, or increased safety.

Objectives
  1. Identify the key components of the posters orally presented: research question, methods, key findings and conclusions of the posters orally presented.
  2. Describe an least one tactic they can use in their own social work area to start or improve a research or QI project.
  3. Engage with peers about their work and provide feedback based on Q&A and discussion.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.




Designation of Credit

Social Workers: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 general continuing education credits.
