Overview
This one day program will provide neonatologists and neonatal healthcare providers with the most up to date information on complex physiologic issues in neonatology. This program will review some of the latest therapies uses in treating the sick neonate. Topics this year include management of pulmonary vein stenosis, lymphatic flow disorders in the neonate, congenital infections including syphilis and CME, multi-drug resistant organisms such as E-Coli, rapid targeting gene testing and how best to implement that into practice, and using developmental supports to optimize outcomes

Objectives
  1. Discuss diagnosis and management of pulmonary vein stenosis in the premature infant.
  2. Describe management of lymphatic flow disorders in the neonatal population.
  3. Discuss the prevalence, treatment, and outcomes for babies born with congenital CMV and Syphilis.
  4. Describe multi-drug resistance E.coli in the NICU setting.
  5. Discuss the use of rapid targeted gene testing in the neonatal period and considerations for parent communication of testing and results.
  6. Describe early interventions and developmental support to improve outcomes in the NICU.
