Overview

This program will address current topics in pediatrics along the spectrum from preventative care to acute illness. The interprofessional education program is designed for the pediatric healthcare community of South Jersey, which includes general pediatricians, pediatric hospitalists and emergency medicine physicians, family medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, pediatric nurses, techs, and all members of the care team.



Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe red flags for cardiac conditions in children presenting for evaluation prior to participation in competitive sports
  2. Describe trends in adolescent and youth e-cigarette use
  3. Describe the most common injuries involving the hip in the adolescent athlete
  4. Identify clinical syndromes and implement proper isolation procedures for re-emerging vaccine preventable diseases
  5. Indentify steps and post-operative risk with surgical treatment of spina bifida
  6. Understand current updates in the ED management of febrile infants less than 2 months old
