Overview
This one-day program is targeted to endocrinologists, neuro-oncologists, radiologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-ophthalmologists, fellows, residents and nurse practitioners who evaluate or treat children with hypothalamic/pituitary disorders. This program will highlight new advances in the approach to the child with a craniopharyngioma, the management of diabetes insipidus in infants, and the diagnosis and management of the child with pseudotumor cerebri. We will review the work-up of Cushings’ disease and neuroradiological features of those with various disorders of the pituitary or hypothalamus. Alternative methods of inducing puberty in central hypogonadism will be described. There will be question and answer sessions with expert panels.

Objectives
  1. Discuss the various therapies for a child with a craniopharyngiomas
  2. Develop strategies on how to treat infants with diabetes insipidus
  3. Prepare an examination of the fundi in children with GH deficiency and possible pseudotumor cerebri
  4. Apply strategies to diagnose the etiology of diabetes insipidus based on the MRI
  5. Evaluate a child with suspected Cushings disease

Accreditation
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education to physicians.
