Keeping Kids with Diabetes Safe In School and Community Settings

This course is designed to provide a solid foundation in current diabetes management. Topics to be reviewed will include: treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, self-care management principles, introduction to utilization of diabetes technology (insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems) to improve outcomes, the emotional impact of diabetes diagnosis on families and patient/family resources.

Nursing Continuing Professional Development Statement

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This conference will provide a maximum of 6.55 continuing nursing education contact hours.
