Dr. Terri Brown Whitehorn is a Board-Certified Pediatric Allergist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her medical training at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.  Following a post-doctoral research year at St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, Dr. Brown-Whitehorn completed her pediatric residency and Allergy/Immunology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.   Although she sees patients with a variety of atopic conditions including atopic dermatitis and urticaria, her main area of expertise is in food allergy (both IgE mediated (anaphylaxis) and non-IgE mediated (food protein induced enterocolitis and eosinophilic esophagitis).   She has participated in the multi-specialty allergy, dermatology and immunology clinic for severe atopic dermatitis since the beginning.  In 2010, she was nominated by her colleagues and received the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Master Clinician Award. Her clinical research has focused primarily on IgE mediated food allergy although she has been an investigator on atopic dermatitis and eosinophilic esophagitis studies.
