Dr. Andrew Steenhoff trained at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He completed pediatric residencies at Chris-Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Johannesburg & Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). From 2007-2015 he served as Associate Country Director & Research Director, Botswana-UPenn Partnership. In 7/2015, he became Medical Director of CHOP’s Global Health Center. Andrew combines clinical, educational and research skills to improve child health in low- and middle-income countries. His research focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis. He is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, UPenn and Adjunct Senior Lecturer, University of Botswana.
