Albert C. Yan, MD, FAAP, FAAD
Dr. Yan is a Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He previously served in the role of Chief of the Section of Dermatology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia until 2020 and has transitioned to the role of Research Director for the Section of Dermatology.
Dr. Yan is a past President of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, past Chair of the AAP Section on Dermatology Executive Committee, and previous Treasurer of PeDRA, the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance.
Dr. Yan is one of the editors-in-chief of the 3rd and 4th editions of the textbook, Harper’s Textbook of Pediatric Dermatology as well as the first edition of Pediatric Dermatology Requisites, and has contributed multiple chapters to the AAP’s Red Book, Rook’s Textbook of Dermatology, Fitzpatrick’s Dermatology, Chiang and Zaoutis’ Comprehensive Pediatric Hospital Medicine, Fleisher and Ludwig’s Textbook of Pediatric Emergency Medicine, among others.
He has received several teaching awards from the medical school and residency programs in pediatrics and dermatology, including the Cornfeld Bedside Teaching Award and Master Clinician Award from Penn and CHOP. His areas of interest include acne, atopic dermatitis, hemangiomas and vascular anomalies, genetic skin diseases, skin infections, pediatric dermatology education, workforce issues, as well as technology applications and the use of computer vision and machine learning/artificial intelligence related to dermatology.
Dr. Yan is a principal founder of Inner Archways LLC at EDVYCE.health, a software startup company dedicated to facilitating education and timely curbside communication among clinicians through its flagship app platform, EDVYCE.
