Jessica Z. Osipowicz, MSN, CRNP is a Trauma Nurse Practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a Level I Trauma Center. She received her BSN from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 following which she began her career in pediatric nursing at CHOP. Working as a staff nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provided the opportunity to directly care for critically ill children including those with pulmonary and/or circulatory failure, life-threatening infection and illnesses, oncologic emergencies, solid organ transplant, and multi-system traumatic injuries. Jessica received her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania’s Acute/Chronic Nurse Practitioner Program in 2011 and transitioned to the Trauma Nurse Practitioner role in 2012. In this role, Jessica has acted as the front-line provider for pediatric patients with traumatic injury including traumatic brain injury, traumatic amputation, penetrating and blunt abdominal and chest injury, burns, and suspected child abuse and neglect. As of 2022, Jessica is the lead APP for the trauma group. Professionally, she has lectured within CHOP and at regional and national conferences including Topics Explored: Pediatric Surgical and Trauma Nursing Conference, Nursing of Children Network (NCN) Annual Regional Pediatric Nursing Conference, NAPNAP National Conference on Pediatric Health Care, and TraumaCon (Society of Trauma Nurses).
