  1. Personal Statement
As a practitioner of plastic surgery for over 30 years, and with an interest in craniofacial surgery for this period, I have done extensive clinical and bench research in the field of craniosynostosis.  I have risen to the position of Director of the Craniofacial Program at CHOP, and Chief of the Division.  In this capacity I have extensive contacts regionally, nationally and internationally, as evidenced by my CV and invited lectures.  I have served as Pediatric Section editor for the Journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, giving me access to nearly all the relevant literature in this subspecialty.  I am former President of The International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, and Chairman of the Craniofacial Expert Group of the AO Foundation.

  1. Contribution to Science
    Imaging in craniofacial deformities.

I have had a long interest in imaging of the head and neck in congenital and acquired facial deformities.  Sentinel studies in this area are highlighted.  As chairman of The Craniofacial Expert Group of the AO Foundation, I have been intimately involved in the development and interpretation of computer-based surgical planning and will present this work to a “Meet the Experts” breakout session during the Davos courses in December 2017.
