Huayan Zhang, MD graduated from Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing in 1991 and received pediatric residency training in the Center for Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care at Beijing Children’s Hospital for 5 years. She moved to the United States in 1996 and studied the influences of environmental factors on child development at the Rutgers University in New Jersey. She completed her second pediatric residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2003 and fellowship training in Neonatal-perinatal medicine at The Children's Hospital Of Philadelphia in 2006. Dr. Zhang serves as the program director of the Newborn and Infant Chronic Lung Disease Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and associate professor of clinical pediatrics at the at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Since August 2018, Dr. Zhang has also been serving as the chief of Neonatology at Guangzhou Women and Children Medical Center. Her clinical focus and research interests are in the prevention and management of infant chronic lung disease. Recognizing her clinical excellence, Dr. Zhang won the Best Care Community Award in 2016 and CHOP Master Clinician award in 2018. In addition, Dr. Zhang has been heavily involved in training and supervising medical students, residents, fellows and international physicians.
