Ryan McAuley, MD, MPH, FACP, FAAP

 

Ryan graduated Cum Laude from Furman University in 2004 and completed medical school at East Tennessee State University in 2009. He also completed an MPH with a concentration in Humanitarian Assistance at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2008. Ryan finished Med-Peds residency training at UPenn/CHOP in 2013 and returned as an alumni Chief Resident for the 2015-2016 academic year. During his time in residency, he participated in the Global Health Equities Track which allowed him the opportunity to travel to Botswana on three occasions with the Botswana-UPenn Partnership. Ryan's clinical interests focus on global health and vulnerable populations, specifically refugee and migrant health, disaster response, and medical education in developing settings. Currently, Ryan splits his time between being an oncology hospitalist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and as a field physician with Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders). He has completed 3 missions to South Sudan and 1 mission to Egypt. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys gastronomic adventures at Philadelphia restaurants, makes impromptu beach trips to the Jersey Shore, attends incredible concerts with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and is mildly obsessed with travel loyalty programs.
